Nottingham Refugee Forum has a long, rich and varied history. For over 25 years it has played a central and crucial part in Nottingham’s welcome to asylum seekers and refugees in our city and county. We have been working with Sparrow’s Nest and University of Nottingham to create a permanent archive of our reports, documents, posters, leaflets, anything that records the history of our organisation since its inception in 2000, which are publicly available to historians, researchers, individuals, anyone who has an interest in what we do.
The Sparrow’ Nest hosts the digital archive https://www.thesparrowsnest.org.uk/index.php/14-news-and-events/263-nottingham-notts-refugee-forum-archive. Physical papers and the small, but growing collection of oral histories is hosted by the University of Nottingham Archive, (the online catalogue will be available soon).
Please do visit the read some of the documents we have obtained so far.
We still need help to ensure we have as much of the Forum’s history as possible. This is where you can help us, if you have any such documents do please get in touch letting us know exactly what you have and whether you would be prepared to donate them to us, or would prefer to loan them to be digitalised and returned to you. If you or any one you know would like to contribute to the oral histories, then please do get in tough. You can contact us at archive@nottsrefugeefroum.org.uk
We very much look forward to hearing from you.
