This Women’s History Month please consider supporting our Women’s group by fundraising or making a donation.
Women and girls make up around 50% of refugee, internally displaced or stateless population. Refugee Women have fled war, persecution and violence and many are at additional risk of physical and sexual violence because of their gender.
At Nottingham Refugee Forum, we empower Refugee Women through weekly sessions. We encourage creativity, English language practice, confidence building and friendship.
Our group meets to share skills and boost self-esteem through activities: Zumba, dance, music, art, pottery, yoga, confidence boosting and stress reduction sessions, day trips, walks around Nottingham – all chosen by Refugee Women themselves. This is a safe space to share experiences, learn new skills and relax.
