Do you want to support NNRF’s work with asylum seekers and refugees? Do you want to champion a society where asylum seekers and refugees are welcomed, receive fair and compassionate treatment and the support they need to rebuild their lives?
Trustees are the ‘guardians of purpose’, making sure that all decisions put the needs of the asylum seekers and refugees first. As a trustee you will be able to use your knowledge, skills and experience and have a direct influence over a cause you care about.
Trustee Stella, who steps down this November, has this to say about her experience:
“It has been a tremendous privilege to serve as a NNRF Trustee for the past 5 years and to be part of a team that includes so many committed and dedicated staff and volunteers. Initially elected in November 2018 as joint Vice-Chair of Trustees, I was a member of the HR (Human Resources) Committee and the Grants Committee, later becoming Chair of the Grants Committee. Serving on these committees gave me an in-depth understanding of the work of the organisation as a whole. In the process of gathering information for funding applications on behalf of the Grants Committee I was able to develop positive relationships with many members of staff and to better understand their work and the challenges they face as they strive to provide much-needed support for our clients. Jointly coordinating the production of the Annual Impact Report for the past 4 years has been both challenging and rewarding and through this I have been constantly reminded of the depth and breadth of NNRF’s projects and the tireless efforts of our staff and volunteers”.
Trustees will be elected at the AGM in November 2023. Further information can be found here, or contact Jennie Fleming, the Chair of Trustees via chair@nottsrefugeeforum.org.uk
