Caseworker (Access to Mental Health Services)

We are excited to be recruiting for a brand new role in our “Into the Mainstream” project, which aims to provide support and advocacy to help our clients access the healthcare services they need.

We are growing the team, and are looking for a new part-time caseworker to focus specifically on mental health support, working with newly dispersed and existing asylum seekers and refugees in Nottingham.

You will deliver face-to-face and drop-in support  to clients, prioritising responsiveness, professionalism, and client-centred approaches.  Your responsibilities will include assessing clients’ complex needs, developing tailored action plans, advocating for their rights, facilitating referrals, and collaborating with external stakeholders while maintaining vigilance for safeguarding concerns to ensure clients’ safety and well-being.

You will also offer training and awareness sessions for NHS Nottingham City staff, focusing on the unique challenges faced by asylum seekers and refugees, and promoting best practices.

You will have recent experience of providing advice and support to refugees, in a paid or voluntary capacity, and have a great knowledge for statutory and voluntary services in the area. You will also have excellent communication skills and be able to work in a flexible and solution-focused way.
