Jobs at NNRF
Anti-Destitution Caseworker
We are looking for a new caseworker to join our vital Anti-Destitution Project, working with destitute and refused asylum seekers.
This project helps destitute refused asylum seekers with their immediate needs, and provides support around their immigration cases via referrals to relevant services or partner organisations. There is rarely just one area of concern when dealing with this vulnerable group, so this project takes a holistic approach to its work.
In this role you will provide responsive, professional, user-centred support and advice, working with all relevant agencies as required. You will assess the needs and eligibility of our clients, and plan appropriate support in conjunction with your line manager.
We are looking for someone who has experience of liaising and negotiating with service users and external agencies, and has a sound knowledge of statutory and voluntary services, both locally and nationally. Experience of providing advice and support to refugees and asylum seekers is desirable, but not essential. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to confidently liaise and negotiate with external partners, in order to gain the best possible outcomes for your clients.
Salary: £24,926 per year pro rata (£20,210 actual)
Hours: Part time (30 hours per week). Please note, we will require you to work on Fridays to help at our Friday Group.
Contract: Fixed term to 31 December 2025
Further information about the role, including what we are looking for, can be found on the Job Description and Person Specification.
How to apply
Please send your CV and cover letter, together with an Equality and Diversity monitoring form, to recruitment@nottsrefugeeforum.org.uk.
Top tip: Your cover letter should be no longer than 2 sides of A4, and show how your skills and experience meet each of the criteria listed on the Person Specification. Please use examples.
Deadline for applications: 23:59 Sunday 8 December 2024
Interviews to be held: w/c 16 December 2024
We want you to have every opportunity to demonstrate your skills, ability and potential; please contact us if you require any assistance or adjustment so that we can help with making the application process work for you.
